Travel inspiration for the weekend! 🌎😊💜 I love to spend time in Mexican cities. And one of my favorite cities on the Yucatan peninsula is Merida. I recently spend a couple of weeks there and discovered so many new places, especially because the city was less crowded than usual. Because of covid there were less events and activities, but while maintaining social distancing, there were still many things to explore. These are some of my favorite things to do in Merida: 🌎Stroll along the paseo de Montejo and observe the beautiful buildings. 🌎Go shopping in and have lunch in their lovely courtyard. 🌎Experience a high end tasting menu at  . It’s truly amazing. 😋 🌎Walk around the colonial center and take pictures of the colonial and colorful buildings. 📸 🌎Discover the fragrances in the beautiful Coqui Coqui perfumeria. 🌎Visit some of the old mansions such as Palacio Canton and Quinta Montez Molina. 🌎Admire contemporary art in the Museum Fernando Garcia Ponce Macay. 🌎Visit the plaza grande and cathedral. 🌎Enjoy the many cool coffeeshops and lunch rooms such as Cafe Latte Quattro Sette, Cafe Impala, Kadus cafe and Mercado 60. 🌎Rent a car and drive to beachtown Progreso for amazing fish dishes. 🌎Spend the night in a lovely hidden palace 🌎Make a day trip to Laguna Celestun and see the many flamingo’s. 🌎Visit nearby Maya ruins such as Uxmal, Chichen-Itza, and Ek Balam. 🌎Visit nature reserve El Corchito, take a dip in the swimming holes and spot raccoons Happy weekend! 💜 #travelphotography #seemexico #ig_mexico #mexico #mexicotravel #visitmexico #discovermexico #instatravel #sheexplores #shetravels  #travelpic #travellife #travel  #wanderlust #travelgirl   #travel #travelblogger  #mexicotrip  #traveltheworld  #travelblog #travelduringpandemic #reizen #traveling #reis #instatravel #mexico_photolovers #merida #cityguide

Have you ever been on a volcano hike? 🌋 I recently hiked the Acatenango in Guatemala. A two-day trek where you hike to the top of the volcano and spend the night in a tent along the way. From the top you can look straight out over the surrounding volcanoes, including the famous Fuego, one of Guatemala’s most active volcanoes. Apparently one of the most consistently erupting volcanoes in the world, as there is an eruption every 20 minutes. 😳 And yes it’s tough, as you walk through 4 different micro climates with sun, fog and possible heavy rainfall, at altitudes around 3500 and 4000 meters. But it’s so rewarding. Where in the world, do you have the chance to see such a force of nature up close? (Swipe left for the eruption). 📸 I wrote a blog post about everything you need to know about this incredible hike (link in bio). Check it out if you have the time..😊💜 #visitguatemala #therealguatemala #perhapsyouneedalittlebitofguatemala #guate  #travelguatemala #guatemala🇬🇹 #guatemala #beautifuldestinations #view #instaguate   #travelphotography #instatravel #sheexplores  #shetravels  #travelpic  #antiguaenguatemala  #wanderlust #travelgirl #travel  #travelblogger #traveltheworld  #travelblog  #exploreguatemala  #travelguatemala #volcano #hike #adventure #Hiking #bucketlisttravel #bucketlist

After spending almost two months in Guatemala, I was so excited to be back in Mexico. 🇲🇽 I adore everything about Guatemala but what I love about Mexico (especially Yucatan) is the great weather and the laid back vibe. ☀️   This place felt like a hidden gem to me. It’s a church in Uayma, a small town just outside Valladolid. There was just nobody around and perfect to take pictures.📸   We found this place driving from Valladolid to Merida in Yucatan. I wanted to take the long and more scenic road on purpose to be able to drive through these villages and explore. I can’t recommend it enough.❤ Wishing you a great rest of the week! 😊 #travelphotography #seemexico #ig_mexico #mexico #mexicotravel #visitmexico #discovermexico #instatravel #sheexplores #shetravels  #travelpic #travellife #travel  #wanderlust #travelgirl #uayma #travel #travelblogger #mexicotrip  #traveltheworld  #travelblog #reizen #traveling #reis #instatravel #mexico_photolovers #yucatan #yucatanmexico #yucatan

Have you heard about the yellow city in Mexico, Izamal? 🇲🇽 The entire city is painted in yellow and it’s so nice to walk around and observe the many yellow buildings. The remarkable thing is that there is no clear explanation for these yellow colors. 😎 📚Izamal used to be a spiritual center for the Maya, with different temples to honor important gods. When the Spanish conquered Izamal, they destroyed the temples and used the stones to build their own cloisters and churches. Nowadays, one of the most famous buildings in Izamal is the convent of San Antonio de Padua, the first cloister built on the Yucatan peninsula. I had to take a picture. 😊 Because of its religious history, Izamal has always been an important city of pilgrimage. 👍These are the best things to do and tips if you are ever planning to visit Izamal: 🌍Stroll around the city and take pictures of the many yellow buildings, decorated with flowers and greenery. It's a picture heaven. (Swipe left) 🌍Visit the San Antonio de Padua cloister and lovely courtyard. 🌍Have some amazing Mexican food in restaurant Kinich. 🌍Spend the night in the beautiful hacienda Sacnicte. 🌍Visit the ruins of former Maya temples. From the Kinich-Kakmo (temple of the sun) you have a great view of the city.  🌍Go shopping in local boutiques for handmade products of sisal. I hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter Weekend and are ready for the week! 💜 #travelphotography #seemexico #ig_mexico #mexico #mexicotravel #visitmexico #discovermexico #instatravel #sheexplores #shetravels  #travelpic #travellife #travel  #wanderlust #travelgirl #izamal #travel #travelblogger #mexicotrip  #traveltheworld  #travelblog #travelduringpandemic #reizen #traveling #reis #instatravel #mexico_photolovers #yellowcity

IGUAZU FALLS - Argentina & Brazil I am seeing so many instagram pictures about amazing waterfalls. I even created a specific waterfalls insta file..😉 and I wish I could discover all the waterfalls in the world. 😊 One of my favorite waterfalls are the Iguazu falls, on the border of Argentina and Brazil. 275 waterfalls are plunging into the Iguazú River, surrounded by a landscape of tropical vegetation and rock formations (swipe left) 🇦🇷 Along the way, you will encounter bromeliads, orchids, iguanas, butterflies and the lovely coatis. It’s one of those places that can give you a sense of how truly astounding nature can be. 😍 There are two ways of visiting the falls, from the Argentinian side and from the Brazilian side. Both sides make you experience the falls in a completely different way. On the Argentine side of the border, you can cross several bridges along the waterfalls. The Brazilian side offers a nice overview, where you’ll see the waterfalls from a distance.  In Brazil it’s also possible to make a helicopter flight and see the falls from above (swipe left). Pretty incredible! I created a blog post about the most beautiful National Parks in Argentina, including Iguazu. SEMUC CHAMPEY Being in beautiful nature makes me feel humble! It also gives me so much energy and inspiration to live life to the fullest.💜 This is Semuc Champey, a national park, hidden in the mountains of Guatemala. And it’s breathtaking! It is famous for its series of naturally formed water basins, consisting of crystalclear turquoise river water.🇬🇹 You can swim in the pools and hike to this amazing viewpoint, where you will be surrounded by steep mountain cliffs and a lush jungle vegetation. 📸 I could easily spend hours here to just sit, walk around and enjoy the area. Do you like to spend time in nature and what does it give you? My IG Argentina guide is live (check the guide section)...🇦🇷 Argentina is the 8th largest country in the world. A trip from the North all the way down to the South is almost 2,300 miles long. For years, I called Buenos Aires my home, and I made my way through this immense country several times. Its diversity left a big impression, and I absolutely fell in love. ❤This fantastic country has so much to offer. Check out some of the best things to do in the guide. This looks like a regular lighthouse but it’s not. It’s the end of the world light house, located in the Beagle Channel, near the city of Ushuaia, the most southern city in the world.🌍 It’s exactly a year ago when I ended my production there and borders closed because of the pandemic. Can't believe that it has been a year since. 🙈 I thought it would be nice to create a new guide highlighting Argentina. Last year I made a video series for Dutch magazine , where I visited different destinations in Dutch nature. 😊 On of the top places I got to visit was , a little tiny house in National Park de Drentsche Aa. The cabiners can only be reached by foot so you have to do some hiking to get there. 🚶‍♀️ But it’s such a nice area! And after your hike you’ll find your own little comfortable house (wich is 100% sustainable) in the middle of the Dutch wilderness.🌍 Swipe left for the trailer. And you might not be able to understand everything in the video but if you want to have a look at the full video, link in bio..😉 Wishing you a happy weekend.💜 #travelblogger #travelblog #hiking #worldtraveler #wanderlust #nature #travel #travelshots #travelphotography #womantravel #beautifuldestinations #travelgirl #travelingram #travelgram #aroundtheglobe #mytravelgram #journey  #dutchwoods #bestofnetherlands #disconnect #adventuretime #thenetherlands #holland #travelholland #europe #mytinyatlas #sheexplores #mytravelstory #traveljournal #travellocal

As Central America has been open for foreigners and I was able to do some projects for work overthere, I decided to travel to Mexico and Guatemala and stay for a while. 🌍 I know traveling is a sensitive subject these days but after not working for a long time in 2020, it was so nice to start 2021 actually working on the things I love most.🙏 Even though I visited Guatemala many times, I am again surprised by its beauty! There is so much to see and experience. There are colonial cities, indigenous villages, markets, fascinating ancient Maya cities, a Pacific and Caribbean coast, breathtaking lakes and many active volcanoes! 🇬🇹 I think one of my favorite destinations is Lake Atitlan, surrounded by three volcanoes and many small villages with each its own vibe and characteristics. I stayed in this beautiful place with my private infinity pool and stunning views....😍 A great place to hide from covid and do some work. I truly hope tourism will find its way back to Guatemala after this pandemic, as it’s gorgeous and still so undiscovered. 💜 I have another blog post up about Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. Travel Inspiration for the weekend🌍😊 Can you believe that this was a view right in front of my cabin? The area of Lanquin is so beautiful. It's a bit of a challenge getting here, basically from every direction in Guatemala. ( a long, bad and bumby road, that can take hours) but it is so worth it.😍 From here you can go on hikes, visit adventurous caves, go to the famous naturally formed water bassins of Semuc Champey or just relax and enjoy the surroundings. 📸 Wishing you all a happy weekend! ❤ Check the link in bio if you want to learn more about this stunning area. 😎 #guategram #visitguatemala #therealguatemala #guate #travelguatemala #guatemala🇬🇹 #guatemala #beautifuldestinations #view #instaguate #guategram #travelphotography #instatravel #sheexplores #shetravels  #travelpic #wanderlust #travelgirl #travel #travelblogger #traveltheworld  #travelblog #exploreguatemala #travelandwork #traveling #view #nature #landscape #Lanquin  #hotelview

TRAVEL INSPIRATION So happy that my new blog post about Guatemala is live, with 20 things to do, itineraries and many tips about cultural, scenic and even gastronomical experiences (link in bio). 😊 And I just created my first IG guide about Guatemala as well (check the guide section)🇬🇹 As there is some positivity, about countries in Europe possibly opening up in the next months, I thought it would be nice sharing some travel information. 🌍 By the way, Guatemala has been open for a while, but you do need to show a negative PCR test to enter (check the article in link in bio) and respect covid measurements. 😷 This picture was taken in Tikal and it is one of the most visited places in Guatemala without a doubt. Because of its mysterious atmosphere and location in the dense jungle, Tikal is one of the most impressive archaeological Maya sites for me. And when I visited a couple of weeks ago with during the week, there was just nobody there. It was so magical!📸 What I love about Tikal is that you’ll learn about the fascinating Maya history while being surrounded by tropical rainforest, monkeys, coatis, butterflies and birds. 😍 Happy weekend! ❤ #guategram #visitguatemala #therealguatemala #guate #travelguatemala #guatemala🇬🇹 #guatemala #beautifuldestinations #guatephoto #instaguate  #guategram #travelphotography #instatravel #sheexplores #shetravels  #travelpic #wanderlust #travelgirl #travel #travelblogger #tikalnationalpark #tikal #maya #traveltheworld  #travelblog #exploreguatemala #tikalguatemala #mayaruins

What I love about Mexico are the many beautiful haciendas, fincas built during the Spanish empire.🌍 Many of them are transformed into boutique hotels or restaurants, located outside the cities. The colors, architecture, spacious rooms and beautiful greenery make it such a relaxing place to stay. 😊💜 I fell in love with the , near the yellow city Izamal. I was supposed to stay there for a night but ended up staying three nights. 😎Have you stayed at a hacienda before? #travelphotography #seemexico #ig_mexico #mexico #mexicotravel #visitmexico #discovermexico #instatravel #sheexplores #shetravels  #travelpic #travellife #travel  #wanderlust #travelgirl #reizen #travel #travelblogger #mexicotrip  #traveltheworld  #travelblog #travelduringpandemic #reizen #traveling #reis #instatravel #mexico_photolovers
